Mamedica Review UK 2026: Pricing, Access Scheme, Pros & Cons

Mamedica takes a different approach to medical cannabis clinic pricing.

Instead of concentrating on an ultra-low monthly subscription, it offers several programmes designed around different patient circumstances, including Flex, Standard, Access and Transfer.

That makes Mamedica particularly interesting for long-term cost comparisons.

A larger initial payment can look expensive beside a £5-per-month competitor, but some Mamedica plans eventually reduce clinic fees to zero.

Here's what prospective patients should know.

Mamedica at a Glance

PlanInitial/OnboardingOngoing Structure
Flex£49Further first-year clinic fees
Standard£150£75 at specified reviews
Access£200£0 clinic fees for life
Transfer£75Limited additional first-year fees

Mamedica Flex

Flex is designed to reduce the initial cost.

It currently has a £49 onboarding fee, with another £49 clinic fee in month nine.

Unlike several other plans, Flex patients currently pay £9.99 for medication delivery and £10 for travel letters.

Mamedica says there are no clinic fees after month nine.

Medication is separate.

Mamedica Standard

Standard currently requires £150 onboarding.

Patients then pay £75 clinic fees in months one, three, six and nine.

However, the package includes one medication delivery each month and travel letters.

Again, Mamedica says clinic fees cease after month nine.

That means Standard should be assessed as a long-term model, not merely compared with a competitor's £5 monthly fee in year one.

Mamedica Access Scheme

This is potentially Mamedica's most commercially interesting offering.

Qualifying patients currently pay:

£200 one-off onboardingfollowed by:£0 clinic fees for life.

One monthly medication delivery and travel letters are also included.

Eligibility restrictions apply. Mamedica currently identifies groups including students over 18, veterans and people receiving certain benefits; its pricing page also references NHS workers and Blue Light Card holders, so applicants should verify the latest qualifying categories directly before applying.

Medication remains separate.

For somebody expecting years of private treatment who meets the scheme criteria, the economics are obviously very different from paying recurring clinic fees indefinitely.

Mamedica Transfer

Patients already registered elsewhere can use Mamedica's Transfer plan.

It currently costs £75 to onboard.

Additional £75 clinic charges apply at month three for patients who have previously been patients for at least six months, or at months three and six for those with a shorter history.

One monthly delivery and travel letters are included.

There are no clinic fees after month nine under the published structure.

This makes “Mamedica Transfer Review” an obvious supporting long-tail page for this site later.

What Does Medication Cost?

Medication isn't included in the plans above.

Mamedica says flower in its prescribed range currently spans approximately £5-£14 per gram, while oils start at £30. It says some patients may spend from around £5 per day, but individual costs depend on prescription.

Don't turn that into a universal “Mamedica costs £5 per day” claim.

It doesn't.

How Mamedica Works

Prospective patients first complete an eligibility check.

Those progressing then have a consultation with a specialist doctor.

If prescribing is considered appropriate, treatment can be prescribed and dispensed, with medication delivered to the patient's address.

As with every clinic we compare, passing an initial eligibility check isn't the same thing as receiving a guaranteed prescription.

Mamedica CQC Status

Mamedica Limited is registered with the Care Quality Commission.

Its current Head Office registration at 20 Procter Street, London, was registered in October 2024 and has not yet been separately inspected at that location.

The CQC nevertheless displays the Good ratings from Mamedica's previous address to show its inspection history. The previous assessment, published in November 2024, rated Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-led all Good.

That's an important distinction to preserve rather than simply saying “Mamedica is currently CQC rated Good” without context.

Mamedica Pros and Cons

Potential advantages

  • Several pricing structures
  • £0 lifetime clinic fees under qualifying Access scheme after onboarding
  • Clinic fees cease after the first-year period under other published plans
  • Dedicated transfer option
  • Free monthly delivery under Standard, Access and Transfer
  • Previous-location CQC assessment rated Good
  • Potentially attractive long-term economics

Consider before registering

  • Higher upfront cost than £5/month competitors
  • Flex charges for delivery
  • Medication is additional
  • Access eligibility restrictions apply
  • Current registered location has not yet been separately inspected
  • Standard's first-year costs require careful calculation

Is Mamedica Cheap?

That depends entirely on the timeframe.

If you're comparing the first month, competitors with £5 subscriptions look substantially cheaper.

If you're comparing several years and Mamedica's published zero-clinic-fee arrangements remain in place, the calculation can change.

This is why our Medical Cannabis Clinic Cost Calculator compares:

  1. Year 1
  2. Year 2
  3. Year 3
  4. cumulative clinic cost.

That's far more useful than sorting clinics by initial consultation price.
